Who is at risk for the FLU? Anyone can get the flu, it is caused by the influenza virus. The flu season is from the fall to spring and generally spread from person to person. Because we all have close contact with other people through touching, coughing and sneezing we can get the flu. You will be receiving an inactivated flu vaccine, it does not contain any of the live influenza virus and will not "give you the flu".
The best way to protect yourself and your family is to receive the flu vaccine. This will also help from spreading the flu from one person to another person. Getting the flu vaccine is also the best way for companies to protect their employees. Yes, you can improve your bottom line by helping to keep your employees healthy, decrease sick time and reduce health care costs. Increase your company morale by showing them that they work for a company that cares enough to provide a convenient opportunity to protect themselves and their families.
Our experienced Registered Nurses will set up the Clinic for you. We will provide and complete forms and waivers, bill appropriate insurance carriers if applicable (we can send you a list) and keep things running smoothly and efficiently. VNA Caring Home Support also has a variety of information available to hand out and can supply multiple lingual pamphlets. We will need a small area for the clinic, the RN will furnish everything needed to set up her station and administer the flu vaccine. We can accommodate staff, employees and their families. At certain businesses we are also able to invite your customers and/or the public to take advantage of this great opportunity.
Pneumonia Immunizations can also be offered as part of your Clinic. Our increasing over 50 population is at increased risk for pneumonia. There are also some medical conditions at higher risk, these include Diabetics, Heart Disease and Lung Disease. The Registered Nurse will have the Pneumonia Vaccine with her, when she sets up your clinic and will offer it to anyone participating. Once again, some insurance companies will cover this Immunization, if not it is a $90.00 charge.
Now is the time to schedule a "Flu Clinic" for your church, business, plant floors, school employees and staff, retail sites, lodges, union halls, city halls, community based organizations. Call us to reserve your vaccine, so that you will be able to offer this opportunity to all employees and their families. You can also pre-schedule to hold a date and time for your Flu Clinic for the convenience of your employees and the company or we can schedule a date in a couple of months.
We can also send you fliers and posters to set up before the scheduled Flu Clinic, this will increase your turn out. We ask that everyone who will be receiving the Flu Vaccine bring all of their insurance cards, picture identification and have the complete postal zone numbers (ex. 00000-0000) for insurance billing purposes. Please note that NO ONE will be conducting a flu clinic or giving flu shots to the public for free, your insurance company will be billed or there will be a $25.00 charge if not covered.
